Raising money for Make-A-Wish® can be a fun way to motivate people and gather
the community together toward a common goal. More than 125 individuals and
organizations host fundraisers for our chapter to help us make wishes come
true every year. They are our organization's backbone. We couldn't make
wishes come true without the community's support. Thank you for considering
holding a fund raiser at your company or civic organization!
You can turn almost anything into a fundraiser, but below are some ideas of
easy fundraising ideas:
Turn a current activity into a Make-A-Wish Fund Raiser
Turn your summer picnic and holiday party into a dream come true for a child
by collecting a small donation at the door. Add a raffled off item and
raise even more!
Bowling Party
Try to get space rental at a bowling alley at a discounted rate. You can
also hold a raffle to win company merchandise and increase revenue.
Employee Bake Sale
Ask employees to pay to sample the goodies. Let departments compete for
bragging rights.
Neighborhood Tag Sale
Get your neighbors together to host a tag sale on your block. Donate the
proceeds to help a child's wish come true and accomplish some much needed
spring cleaning!
Vacation Day Raffle
Raffle off an extra vacation day at the office... who wouldn't take a chance
on this?
Hold a "jeans day" or "dress down" day
Employees can wear casual clothes in exchange for a donation to Make-A-Wish.
Hold a Golf Outing
Get friends, co-workers and neighbors involved at a local golf course for an
afternoon. A silent auction and/or raffle can add to the money you make.
Purchase an item to raffle
Great items like a big screen TV or a trip for two make attractive raffle
items. Sometimes items will be donated if you write a letter and indicate
you are holding the raffle for charity.
Sell Candy
Many fundraising companies specialize in candy sales specifically for
charitable organizations.
Holiday Giving
Many families and employees have decided to make monetary donations to
Make-A-Wish® in lieu of holiday giving.
