Volunteer Anthony G. has been volunteering with our chapter since 2001 and has had his fingerprints in many chapter initiatives over the years.
As a wish granter, he's helped grant over 100 wishes, he's helped mentor new wish granters through their first few wishes, and he's assisted on various special events from our annual Wish Ball to serving as a photographer for our Walk for Wishes walkathon. Anthony has been a longtime donor and along with volunteer Liz E. he even helped establish our Alumni Committee during it's early days in 2006 (we are the first known Alumni Committee established throughout all of Make-A-Wish®). In 2008, Anthony was also recognized by National partner, AVIS for his volunteer work with our chapter. In the words of our President & CEO Tom Conklin;
"with you as a volunteer...the chapter has been better for it"
Today, we hosted Anthony for lunch and presented him with a custom star representing the 100+ wishes he helped grant during his time with us, it includes the first name of each child. Special thanks to volunteer, Lauren D. for helping design the artwork for the star. We also presented Anthony with a recognition award for his 15 years of volunteer service with our chapter.
Though we'll miss Anthony and his many contributions to our chapter, we wish him all the best as he enjoys his new home state of South Carolina. The Wish House's door are always open for you. Remember, it's not goodbye, just see you later!
PS - We're happy you're still going to be a NY Yankee fan!
