Daniel, Emma, and their families were greeted and escorted by volunteer JoAnn Parker who showed them around Michie Stadium and prepped them for their day as honorary co-captains.
The day kicked off with some pre-game fun at a tailgating party hosted by Make-A-Wish Volunteers, Michael and Lisa Lichtenberg. Daniel and Emma were then escorted to watch the players warm-up, chat it up with the referees, and get to meet Boo Corrigan the Director of Athletics. Daniel and Emma also enjoyed seeing up close a custom Orange County Choppers motorcycle honoring the Class of 1955 West Point Cadets.
At the half, there was a special halftime show where they unfurled of a giant US flag at the 50-yard line, they had a trained bald eagle fly over the scores of cheering Army Football fans - all while listening to God Bless America - truly inspirational. That energy helped fuel a 21-point comeback from the Black Knights but they ultimately lost 34-31 on a last-second field goal by Tulane. Despite the loss, Daniel and Emma had a wonderful day full of memories and good times.
Special thanks to West Point for providing these amazing experiences for our wish kids and to volunteer JoAnn and goarmywestpoint.com for the great photos!
Daniel's wish to have a Room Makeover and Emma's wish to have a playset were granted this past August.
