To date, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Hudson Valley has granted more than 1,600 wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions, living throughout the Hudson Valley. In the last two years, we have granted over 230 wishes.

Without the help of volunteers, like you, none of this would be possible. To carry out our mission, we depend on the help of more than 400 volunteers throughout the eight New York counties of Delaware, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester.

We are always looking for new volunteers to share their time & talents with us and the population we serve.

In order to provide our Wish Children and their families with the best experience possible, all potential volunteers must:

  1. Complete a Volunteer Application
  2. Attend a New Volunteer Orientation
  3. Complete a Screening Process, including a reference check, and criminal background investigation on applicants over age 18.

(All information in the application, as well as any acquired through the background investigation, will remain confidential and be used for screening and placement purposes only.)

Completed applications can be faxed to 914-478-8245 or mailed to The Wish House, 832 S. Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591.

A $5 processing fee is requested with the application to cover the cost of the background investigation. Checks should be made payable to Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Hudson Valley. If you are unable to provide the processing fee, please attach a note stating so. No one will be denied application due to inability to pay the processing fee. The application process takes 4 to 6 weeks to complete.
