It’s a common myth that all Make-A-Wish kids have terminal illnesses. For many, a wish experience provides strength and hope for the future. With the support of family, friends, communities, and – of course – their medical teams, many wish kids go on to become healthy adults. Each of them is living proof that hope helps heal.

The Make-A-Wish® Alumni Committee of the Hudson Valley Chapter is comprised of Wish Children 13 years of age and older who received their Wish from the Hudson Valley Chapter.
Established in 2006 the Alumni Committee provides an opportunity for former Wish Recipients to connect with one another and fulfill their vision of ‘giving back’ and ‘making a difference’ under the umbrella of the Make-A-Wish Foundation®.
The goal of the Alumni Committee is to change the misconception that Make-A-Wish is an organization that grants wishes to only terminally ill children. Committee members share their experience with others to demonstrate the impact Make-A-Wish® has had on their lives by providing hope, strength and joy during a medically and emotionally challenging period.

If you’re a Wish Alumni and are at least 13 years old and have had your wish granted at our chapter at least 6 months ago, you’re eligible to join the Alumni Committee.
Please note: If you’re under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must attend ALL meetings with you.
