TARRYTOWN, NY (July 9, 2020) – Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley faces a record number of wishes waiting to be granted, as a result of the recent need to postpone all wishes that involve travel due to the public and medical concerns of COVID-19. As 77% of wishes involve travel, 970 wishes nationwide and 22 wishes through Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley were immediately impacted with additional wishes being impacted every day. The challenging circumstances have inspired Make-A-Wish to think creatively about how to fundraise during uncertain times.
Today, July 9, Make-A-Wish announces “Stars At Home” to give supporters and the general public alike a fun, easy way to help children with critical illnesses without needing to leave the house.
Make-A-Wish® Hudson Valley is proud to present its first-ever virtual talent show, Stars at Home. Stars at Home: A Virtual Talent Show benefiting Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley will bring together the stars in our community to show support for local children battling critical illnesses whose wishes were postponed due to COVID-19.
All are invited to participate by submitting 60-second videos of their talents at hudson.wish.org/starsathome by July 24th. A unique variety of videos will be selected and featured in the show, taking place at hudson.wish.org/starsathome, which will go live on July 27 through August 2nd.
